New Technology Presentation Google Earth
Google earth was one of my favorite new technology presentations because it was the most interesting to me. I liked that on google earth you can look at the moon, planets, sky/stars, ocean and 3D buildings! I think its a great tool for setting the scene (geography, history and literature), explore the animal kingdom, locate important areas around the city that you are in (police station, hospital, etc.), keep up with different climate changes and tours of endless places! I believe its a great tool that will get the kids involved and excited sense its a great visual tool.
New Technology Presentation Animoto
Animoto is a slideshow movie maker, that you can use your own images, pick your own background and your own soundtrack to the movie. I believe that Animoto is a great tool to introduce a topic to a class, or even for the students to use to give information for a group project they may have to do instead of using the normal powerpoint. I also like the quality of the videos, the pictures upload nicely and you can add your own photos and music if you want. They also give you a list of different backgrounds that you can choose from if you dont want to use your own photos. Great tool to use for any subject that you are teaching.
New Technology Presentation Proprof Quizmaker
Proprofs quizmaker is a great website that provides web based tools for building and testing knowledge. You can also take and create quizzes, it include polls, flashcards and brain games. There are over 100,000 quizzes created, and over 1 million quiz takers. I also like that proprofs quizmaker can be used for tests, quizzes, homework, studying, students can work together creating quizzes. You can make the quizzes so that they are multiple choice, true/false, or even fill in the blank so you have a variety of ways to create your quizzes. I would definitely use Proprofs quizmaker in the future as a teacher! :)
New Technology Presentation Storybird
I thought storybird was a really fun Language Arts class tool! Storybird could be used in the classroom as a collaborative writing tool, and a more fun and interactive way to assign homework and in class writing. I think that being able to be creative with their stories and being able to add pictures to go along with their stories will make writing a lot more enjoyable for most students! I also liked that you can either keep your students storybirds private or be able to post them for the other students to see each others work. I also like that storybird is completely and 100% free :)
New Technology Presentation Kidnetic
I found this website very enjoyable and fun to use. I liked that the website allowed kids to learn, have fun, and be active! It had a lot of different categories on the website to chose from; move, eat, talk, and learn. Move is full of fun physical activities that get the kids up and moving, and can even be played with multiple people. Eat is full of healthy food recipes that can be made and enjoyed. I thought this was clever for students that want to eat healthier can go on this site and fun some yummy healthy snacks! Talk section is to let kids send information to their parents or friends, like recipes! Learn tab is full of great valuable information that is not only geared towards kids but their parents as well! Overall I believe that this website would be great for a health or Physical Education class and can be used to gather a lot of information along with fun games and activities!
